So I saw Feng Zhu's last upload in the "Let's Draw" series, and he mentioned his new project that he took part in; DrawCrowd. drawcrowd.com/
So DrawCrowd is basically like deviantart, except it has a lot of advantages, subjective ones. And a lot of objective disadvantages; like a few ui issues that dA has improved on, or the 2mb limit on uploads (which is my main issue). As far as the advantages go: there are a lot. Firstly, the general art quality and standards are just... a million times higher. You see a lot of professional artists flocking in due to Feng's influence and maybe word of mouth, so it's kind of like cghub in that way. The sharing system encourages commenting and liking above all; the more active you are at promoting other people's stuff, the more other people will promote yours.
I really like this place, and I hope that it can eventually overcome some of it's beta issues and become a safe alternative to dA. Because honestly I'm getting kind of tired of some of dA's inconveniences. I hope to see you there!
